Iconic Moment of the Week: Loki Finale

This is a spoiler free post about the Loki finale, but it does have episode 1-5 spoilers.

Dear Disney,

Uncle Ben once said, with great power comes great responsibility. Disney, you can correct a wrong in this world, which is the release time of your Marvel tv shows. For an east coaster, the 3 am drop time is a bit inconvenient. You see, it’s the middle of the night for me, a time I reserve for sleeping. I can’t watch a new episode first thing in the morning, which means I must spend the day avoiding the internet because your shows are always trending.

Easy enough, right Kevin Feige? WRONG.

I have a crippling addiction to the internet. On release days, reading the word Loki sends me into a panic. Guess who knew it was Agatha All Along before watching the episode, ME. Guess who knew when Lady Loki was going to make her first appearance, ME.

So please, Disney, be reasonable. Consider an earlier release time. I can work with 10 pm eastern standard time (although I’ll still be cranky the next day).

Let’s move on with the icons.

GLORIOUS PURPOSE! Episode 5 of Loki introduced us to new variants of Loki, including Classic Loki. Richard E. Grant’s introduction to the MCU has been completely charming. When trying on his costume, he was upset to find out he was not in a muscle suit, describing his look as “A Kermit in tights!” I hope we see him again soon.

The baby Yoda award for this season has to go to alligator Loki, Garoki? Still up for debate if he is a Loki, but he is green. Please don’t get on his wrong side, or you’ll find yourself needing a hand.

You may be thinking that this is an icon of two daggers. WRONG. It’s love.

If Loki does not end with Mobius on a jet ski, drinking a Josta Cola... then I DON’T WANT IT.

I have loved the addition of Sylvie/Lady Loki to the MCU, and Sophia Di Martino and Tom Hiddleston have great chemistry BUT, but if Loki is gender fluid, shouldn’t there be more Lady Loki(s)? Also, have we decided if Loki is the plural of Loki? In episode five, all of the Loki variants were shocked to hear about a lady version of themselves, which doesn’t make sense if they can switch their gender (like they can in the comics).

I can’t trust this smile. Miss Minutes is up to something. She was also trending on Twitter this morning @Disney; please re-read the introduction. She is up to something, that sneaky little clock.
