After 28 years of hosting late-night tv, Conan O'Brian said goodbye in his final episode this week. While he will not be off tv for too long, he has an upcoming weekly verity show with HBO Max; it is the last time we will see him each weeknight on our TVs.

I grew up on Conan, as a kid I would sneak back downstairs to watch Late Night. His brand of humor was distinct from the other white men of late-night at this time. He usually made himself the butt of the jokes; during the stand-up section of the show, he would flip his signature orange hair and dance with fake strings on his hips. He was always on the move, looking for the next laugh, even if it was at the expense of a failing joke he just told. On NBC, he was always the underdog, which just made me root for him harder.
My favorite Conan bits over the years included:

Triumph the Insult Dog, who would tear down Star Wars Fans, the band Bon Jovi, and people ordering hot dogs.

The Walker Texas Ranger Lever, Conan would pull the lever multiple times an episode, and it would play outlandish clips from this unexplainably mesmerizing show.

When Conan was canceled on NBC in 2009 in favor of Jay Leno (eww), he pretended to spend all of NBC's money on expensive gags, such as his Bugatti Veyron Mouse.

Paul Rudd's Mac and Me clip, over the past 20 years, anytime Paul Rudd promoted his latest movie or project, instead of sharing a clip to promote it, he would prank Conan with a clip of the film Mac and Me.
After making the switch over to TBS, Conan found success with viral Youtube videos. Some of my favorites included:

This part is for Conan O'Brian and no one else:
When I was 13 watching your show, my brother promised me he would get me tickets to your show (audience members need to be 16 years old). He mostly said this, thinking I would forget in a few years; I never did, and we also never saw your show. His promise will remain broken forever, so thank you for giving me something to hold over him for the rest of our lives.
